"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

—Book of Matthew 16:19

"X" Marks the Spot...

The chiasma opticum, or Optic Chiasm, where the optic nerve for each eye connects and crosses-over through the other, lies in the anterior portion of the Circle of Willis.

The Circle of Willis is a cross-connected system of blood vessels in the middle of the brain. The structure encircles the stalk of the pituitary gland and provides important communications between the anterior and posterior circulations of the brain.

Here's a quick sidenote about the Pituitary Gland and its photosensitive properties and functions as the "True Third Eye"...

is exclusively present in pituitary

adenylate cyclase-activating

polypeptide-containing retinal

Although the Pineal Gland usually gets all the "Third Eye" attention, in esoteric symbolism and occult anatomy, the Circle of Willis, particularly the Third Ventricle within it, represents the gateway or "Looking Glass" to the Higher Heart. And the Pituitary Gland is the actual Master Overseer, internally secreting and concreting the means of making it all happen.

Mystics and luminaries of all ages and traditions understood "Mind" as the Soul essence of humankind. These ancient visionaries also recognized two hearts within each human being. The first of these is the heart that resides in the chest, known as the bleeding, beating heart. But this is not the "True Heart" of enlightened mystics. Rather, this other "True Heart" is said to exist within other realms of the human being beyond the "coronary" cor cordis and the quintessential soma ...Beyond the limitations of space and time.

Through Heart Activation and Meditative practices, the ebb and flow of the Third Ventricle can be engaged and the "True Heart" can be approached via the vast system of fluids, vessels, valves and "chi" forces that serve to unite each individual with the Creator and the Soul, the Beginning and the End.

• "Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them..."

• "The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light."

—Book of Matthew 6:22

"In Scripture we are told that God made man in His own image. It is so stated not only in the Christian Bible but also in the holy writings of nearly all enlightened people. The Jewish patriarchs taught that the human body was the Microcosm, or little Cosmos, made in the image of the Macrocosm, or the great Cosmos. This analogy between the finite and the infinite is said to be one of the keys by the aid of which the secrets of Holy Writ are unlocked. There is no doubt that the Old Testament is a physiological and anatomical textbook to those capable of reading it from a scientific viewpoint. The functions of the human body, the attributes of the human mind, and the qualities of the human soul, have been personified by the wise men of the ancient world, and a great drama has been built around their relationships to themselves and to each other. To the great Egyptian demigod, Hermes, the human race owes its concept of the law of analogy. The great Hermetic axiom was, That which is above is like unto that which is below, and that which is below is like unto that which is above."
