Peter Thiel and his company Palantir are at the forefront of leading the U.S. into an AI-controlled world where the elites are in charge of everything. You will own nothing. I wanted to hear your thoughts about this guy. Here is his bio what do you all think?
Peter Thiel (born October 11, 1967, in Frankfurt, West Germany) is a German American entrepreneur and investor whose contrarian vision has shaped modern tech. Best known as a cofounder of PayPal and Palantir Technologies, and as the first outside investor in Facebook, Thiel has built a career by backing bold ideas and challenging conventional wisdom.
After moving to the U.S. as a child, Thiel studied philosophy and law at Stanford, where he founded The Stanford Review to critique political correctness. In 1998 he cofounded Confinity, which evolved into PayPal after merging with Elon Musk’s X.com. The platform revolutionized online payments and was acquired by eBay in 2002 for $1.5 billion, making Thiel a multimillionaire.
He soon became one of Silicon Valley’s most influential investors, launching Founders Fund and backing companies such as SpaceX, Airbnb, and Lyft. In 2004, he also cofounded Palantir, a data analytics firm whose government contracts stirred controversy but also made it a major player in cybersecurity and intelligence.
Thiel is equally known for his public battles and unorthodox stances. Outed by Gawker in 2007, he later funded lawsuits that bankrupted the media outlet. In 2016, he broke from Silicon Valley’s liberal consensus by publicly supporting Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
Through his foundation, Thiel funds initiatives like the Thiel Fellowship, which gives young entrepreneurs money to build companies instead of going to college—a reflection of his skepticism toward higher education.
A polarizing figure, Thiel has left a lasting imprint on technology, finance, and politics, consistently betting on the ideas—and people—others overlook.
