Burning Sage or Cedar is very helpful  the smoke clears spaces and yourself  ..also if you gather these things from nature offer tobacco as a sign of gratitude store bought can be less affective  .. you can use small strips of bark to burn in a smudge bowl and you can use the greens to boil and make tea ( no more than one cup a day )  and also put in a bath ( boiling it also clears your home i do once per season )  ..also you can put the cedar greens at the corners of your home  and in windows all these things keep your home clear of negative  energies  ( beings )  can also carry sage or cedar on your person
