Guys, what are your thoughts on this? Should we be more outspoken about the fact that we’ve used developing countries to our own advantage, driven by greed?
Western energy companies are offloading substandard, highly polluting fuels onto African markets—fuels they wouldn't dare sell back home. According to Nigerian investigative journalist David Hundeyin, this isn’t just a case of cutting corners; it’s a calculated geopolitical strategy. He argues that Western powers view Africa as a dumping ground for the toxic byproducts of their industrial processes. Refined fuel sent to Africa often contains sulfur levels up to 200 timeshigher than the EU limit, simply because it’s cheaper to produce and easier to sell where regulations are weak or poorly enforced.
This isn’t just environmental injustice—it’s economic sabotage. Hundeyin believes there's a deliberate effort by the West to keep African nations from achieving industrial independence. By blocking efforts to refine their own oil and forcing them to import fuel, these countries are locked into a cycle of exporting raw resources while importing finished goods—losing both money and jobs in the process. He presented all the evidence from his investigation to prove that Africa is used as a dumping ground for western countries.

In a bold move, President Donald Trump has swooped in to defuse a fiery border clash between Thailand and Cambodia, their worst in over a decade! On July 26, 2025, Trump took to social media, revealing he’d strong-armed both nations’ leaders—Cambodia’s Hun Manet and Thailand’s Phumtham Wechayachai—into agreeing to urgent ceasefire talks. The conflict, ignited by a century-old dispute over ancient temples, exploded with artillery barrages and a Thai F-16 strike, leaving over 30 dead and 130,000 displaced. Wielding the promise of U.S. trade deals, Trump warned that continued fighting would tank their economies. Now, with ASEAN cheering from the sidelines, the stage is set for high-stakes talks to douse this Southeast Asian powder keg!
Do you think lasting peace will be achieved in the world, or will there be a perpetual need for mediation on the global stage? Let us hear your thoughts below. ⬇️
