Audrey Ross Yes. The problem is most selfish ignorant people tend to be self-absorbed narcissists with closed minds like a steel trap door that cannot ever be opened. They don't listen to others, cannot accept criticism, have no interest in learning the truth or of bettering themselves... they just want more stuff or more recognition and wordly success or whatever. Not sure is such people are capable of "growing a heart."

Thanks for your insight Audrey. Yes, I think so. Yet there is the question of what is the fastest way to cause a mass awakening in the shortest time. I know that losing a loved one can cause one to develop empathy, compassion and consideration for others. Whereas a selfish ignorant person harming others will likely learn nothing and not change in one lifetime. And if energy cannot be destroyed and we are infinite, could mass pain experienced in a short period of time (say over a 3 year period) prevent the necessity for a prolonged period of pain (hundreds or thousands of years) and cause a mass evolution in our consciousness faster? The selfish and ignorant would not evolve in such a scenario although. Maybe they would receive karma in their next lifetime and then awaken?
