The year's second full moon, known as the snow moon, arrives just in time for Valentine's Day.
February’s full Snow Moon reaches peak illumination at 8:53 A.M. EST on Wednesday, February 12.
It will be below the horizon at this time, so for the best view of this Moon, look for it starting the night before or later on Wednesday; it will drift above the horizon in the east around sunset and reach its highest point in the sky around midnight.
February is also the perfect time to spot Venus, the planet named after the Roman goddess of love, as it shines at its brightest this month, according to NASA.
February's full Moon is known as the Snow Moon, after the heavy snowfall often associated with this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, but is also sometimes called the Storm Moon or Hungry Moon.
