I have experienced something very similar to his description a handful of times. I think many might feel like it is a hellish dimension. For me hell is complete disconnection from the source or the light. The souls I encountered seemed stuck. Almost zombie like. But the moment of recognition turned on a light in the eyes of the other then the tears began to flow followed by an embrace. Suddenly the individual just disappeared yet the other individuals in this room that was filled with a kind of dead light seemed oblivious to anything going on around them. Complete self absorption

I think the definition of coma might need clarification In healthcare we place people into medically induced coma for treatment purposes and I don’t believe that is a determination that the soul is then sent to the land of darkness or G-d forbid the other place of no return There’s got to be some universal law sifting out the difference between circumstances of “coma” I wonder if it has to do with the tethering of the chord connecting body to soul
